The Third 12 Weeks

I'm in the final stretch!!!  It feels so good to know that soon I will have my baby girl in my arms!

The Third 12 Weeks:

Cravings:  Subway turkey breast, pizza, boiled noodles with Parmesan cheese, fruity candy, Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, Doritos, string cheese and crackers, apple juice, mandarin oranges, bananas

Aversions:  Mexican except nachos until about 30 weeks, milk

Weight Gain: 30 pounds at 33 weeks (ugh! Live Healthy Iowa-here I come!)

These third 12 weeks have been bleak.  At times I wasn't sure I would make it another week.  I got the stomach flu, which was pretty awful.  I was still dealing with my right side pain under my ribs and then at the beginning of November I got sick with a sinus infection and bronchitis.  5 weeks later, I'm still coughing and struggling with the sickness.  Around Thanksgiving we think I coughed so hard and the baby shifted, causing me to pull a muscle in my left side.  I could barely move for almost 2 weeks.  Poor Eric would have to help me lay down because it hurt so bad to go from sitting to laying!  Many tears were shed and frustration was high.  I was also coughing so hard that I would vomit at times and was dealing with horrible heartburn on top of it all!  To say the least, I have been a mess!

The cough is finally settling, my doctor put me on medicine to help with it and the pain as well as heartburn.  I'm feeling more positive these days and remembering that EVERYTHING will be worth it in the end!  I'm so lucky and blessed to have a healthy baby girl growing inside of me!!  I already love her so much and always will through thick and thin!

I started having contractions again, just as I did during my pregnancy with Bryce.  The doctor did some checking on them and as of a month ago, they weren't making me progress towards pre-term labor! YAY! If they were he was going to put me on bed rest.  So relieved!  They have continued however and I am supposed to start monitoring them since I am getting close to the time I delivered with Bryce (36 weeks).  The doctor and I have a plan set up for pre-term labor and if this baby decides to come at 36 weeks more than likely he will not stop the labor.  It is very exciting to think that I could be holding my baby in 3 weeks!

Cailyn and Bryce are excited to meet the baby-they both hug my belly and talk to the baby.  They enjoy feeling her move and like to ask questions about when she will be here.  I can't wait to see them both as a big sister and big brother.  While it will take some adjusting, I know they will love this baby and do about anything for her!

We continue to get ready for her arrival.  I have a calendar set up of things we still need to get done.  We also still need to purchase some items such as a baby monitor, some feeding supplies, a diaper bag, and a few others.  Hopeful while we are on break over Christmas we can do the final baby shopping.

At times I have felt miserable thinking about waiting longer for the baby to come.  It's been my toughest pregnancy so far and I find myself wishing it to be over.  I have prayed for patience and know that I am very fortunate to be able to carry a baby and experience pregnancy.  During the down times, I remind myself of this and it gets me thinking more positive.  While I can't wait to meet our little girl, see what she looks like, and cuddle her from the outside; I know that she needs more time develop into a healthy infant.  She will come when she is ready and she will be worth the long wait!

6ish weeks and counting down!
