2012; In Review

It's that time of year again.  Time to reflect on the past and prepare for the future.  2012 has had it's ups and downs, as every year does.  Once again I spent time thinking about the changes that occurred in our lives and the lessons that I have learned from these changes.  2011 was a year full of learning and it was fun to reread last years top 10 list! (you can click on the 2011 to go to it) Here is my top 10 list of learning's in the year 2012 (in no particular order).

10.  Sending your first born to kindergarten is heavy on the heart.  Seeing the excitement build up in her the week before was refreshing but then sending her off on the bus crying out for her daddy in tears was heartbreaking.  Letting go is hard.  This was just the beginning of letting my child grow up and become independent.  I hope time slows down because this mommy isn't sure how she will deal with high school graduation, college, and marriage!

9.  Watching Cailyn and Bryce react when we told them a new baby was on the way was one of the most heartwarming events of the year. Since the announcement they have talked to my belly, shown me the things they will teach their little sister, and have been eager to have her here with us.  In 2013 I look forward to seeing them grow as a big sister and big brother.  Surely they will teach me in the new year!

8.  3rd pregnancies are by far the hardest!  I learned that I will not be one of those people that has 4+ children no matter how much I love babies and kids!

7.  Boys need time to grow and mature.  I started out 2012 worried about Bryce's behavior and development.  Over this past year he has grown into the most caring, loving, and sweet little boy.  He has such a warm heart full of love for those around him.  He has brought tears to my eyes multiple times and I can't imagine my life without him!

6.  Life doesn't always work out the way you think it will.  I have learned you have to let things unfold the way God has planned and accept it.

5.  Wheat Thins do not take away a craving for Star Crunches and brownies!  However, they are better for you.

4.  Letting my house get messy isn't the end of the world.  It is much more important to take care of Cailyn and Bryce and myself and baby Grabe than worry about if my counters are wiped off or the clothes are folded.  I am thankful Eric has been so easy going on me with this pregnancy and has helped around the house so much.

3.  Pregnancy really is a miracle.  No matter how uncomfortable or sick I have been, I am so thankful that I get to experience growing a new life.  It is an unforgettable experience.

2.  Watching Cailyn learn and grow in kindergarten has been amazing.  She impresses me each day with her new knowledge and how she is proud of herself each day!  I hope that her eagerness to learn  rubs off on her little brother and sister!

1.  Just as last year....I have learned it once matter how old you get, your parents are still your parents.  They will still do their best to guard and protect you.  I am blessed to have parents who go out of their way to help in times of need.  I can only hope that the things I have learned from them carry over into my own parenting.  Thank you mom and dad.  I love you!

2013 is here.  Let the learning begin!
